Emily Venters, a senior at Utah, placed second in the Pac-12 women's cross country championship race at the Ag-Ops course in Riverside, Calif. Venters covered the 6-kilometer layout in 19:16.7 to help the Utes equal Colorado with 66 points, although the Buffaloes prevailed on a head-to-head tiebreaker to result in Utah finishing runner-up for the second year in a row. Venters, who was honored as the conference women's scholar-athlete of the year, improved from taking third last season in Salt Lake City.
